However, as Randy so effectively explains, those Israelites would never have been able to cross had they not first consecrated themselves before God and taken a huge step of faith into the mile-wide river. What a lesson of surrender, obedience and faith for each of us, His modern-day children.
Abraham passed perhaps the greatest test any human could have. He was willing to obey God, even it meant sacrificing or taking the life of his own son, Isaac. As Pastor Randy Norris explains that God doesn’t test us to trip us up, but rather to make us more like Him. Fortunately, the Lord supports us and cheers for us even as we are going through difficult tests. And with His help and power, it is more than possible that we will pass with flying colors!
