Honoring — and Honorable — Parents

Pastor Randy Norris continues his powerful and insightful series on the 10 Commandments that he calls “First and Ten.” As the first 4 commandments focus on our relationship with God, this 5th command and those remaining deal with our relationship with other people. To live a longer life on this earth, God says we must honor our father and mother. And, as Pastor Randy quite emotionally points out, he wants to be the kind of parent his kids will proud and inclined to honor — as should all of us who are parents.

Off Day

Everyone needs a day off. That’s not just a worn-out catch phrase or some social scientist’s opinion. That happens to be God’s mandate and arrangement for His creation! In fact, according to Pastor Randy Norris, Almighty Creator God — who never tires or grows weary — set the precident for us humans by working on creation for six days and then resting himself on the seventh. Randy challenges us with this: What day off do you take each week — and do you use it “for the Lord”?

Identity Theft

When God said not to use His name in vain, He meant much more than most of us realize. In this lazer-pointed message, Pastor Randy Norris addresses the power and sacredness of God’s name — and how serious God is that we honor His name completely. Randy explains that this commandment reaches far beyond certain slang words in our conversations. Whatever we profess and confess in Jesus’ name should properly represent both His character and our surrender.

Big G, Little g’s

In this second installment in his First and Ten message series, Pastor Randy Norris delivers a compelling description of why our God is the true God who deserves all of our attention, adoration, and allegiance. We should therefore–as Randy so passionately explains–follow God’s commands as a response to his love for us, rather than as a mere requirement.
